Night Skincare Regime For A Glowing and Hydrated Morning

They call it beauty sleep, and here’s why. While we’re tucked away our cells are hard at work, repairing and regenerating. They need to recover from the day’s pollution, dirt, and sunrays. A carefully curated night skincare routine is an effortless way to incorporate some extra love, and undo any damage caused to your skin during the day.

If you’re someone who hates waking up to dehydrated and dull skin, read on to know how you can turn that around, and live the real “I woke up like this” life.

1. Remove Your Makeup
A cardinal sin when it comes to skincare is keeping your makeup on while you sleep. What’s one rule that you should never break? For us, it’s going to bed with makeup.
Even though it can feel like a herculean task to remove your makeup at the end of a long, tiring day - it’s always a good idea to do so. Sleeping with a full face of makeup clogs the pores, which leads to infections, breakouts, and premature ageing. It also makes your skin look dull and drab the next morning. The solution? A simple night wash routine is an effective and relaxing way to cleanse your face and get a good night’s sleep.

2. C-E-M
Even if you don’t wear makeup everyday, your face requires a thorough cleanse at the end of the day. Day-to-day activities lead to a buildup of impurities like dirt, pollution, and excess oil. Going to bed with an unwashed face means letting these impurities sit on our skin all night, slowing down the regeneration and repair process.

Before going to bed, get into the habit of following the C-E-M regime. A simple cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing routine will help you maintain healthy, hydrated, and fresh skin. You’ll notice a visible difference in your skin after regularly following this routine.

  • Go in with a gentle face wash, we recommend our Coffee Face Wash.
  • Follow that up with a face scrub to help with any last traces of dirt or impurities. A scrub will also help the moisturizer seep into the deepest layers of the skin. You can check out the Coffee Face Scrub.
  • Lastly, apply a generous amount of moisturizer to hydrate the skin from within. You can check out our Coffee Oil-Free Face Moisturizer.

Before using a moisturizer, you may set the base with a skin-friendly serum. It’ll add a layer of quick-absorbing hydration. Based on your skin’s type and its needs, you can opt-in for a serum with potent ingredients like retinol, peptide, or vitamin C - depending on what you’re targeting. Our Green Tea Face Serum apart from hydrating, incorporates vitamin C which protects the skin against sun damage. It also contains natural green tea extracts, which make it a rich source of antioxidants.

Make sure you allow a gap of 15-20 mins before your night skincare routine and going to bed. This’ll allow the products to soak in and avoid any stains on your pillow.

3. Heavy Moisturization
An easy yet effective way to recover from dehydrated skin is to apply overnight products. They offer a boost of moisture and are a sure-shot way to rejuvenate dull skin. Overnight creams are generally heavier than lightweight day products and offer a richer hydration experience.

Make the most of your beauty sleep with our Latte Coffee Sleeping Mask. It’s packed with ingredients like almond milk - which soothes the skin, hyaluronic acid - which hydrates it, and niacinamide which repairs it, thus making it look brighter in the morning.

You can also apply eye cream to target the delicate skin around the eyes. Our eyes are constantly strained by the never-ending use of gadgets and screens, making them fatigued in the process. An eye cream provides the required nourishment. Soothing, and relaxing the skin overnight. Our Coffee Under Eye Cream depuffs the under-eye area and relieves dark circles with consistent use.

This 3-step skincare routine will help you be your best self throughout the day. Remember, cleanse-exfoliate-moisturise. That’s all, you’re all set!

4. Hydrate before bed
The unsung hero of all skincare routines - water! The key to hydrated and glowing skin is a well-hydrated body. While it’s important to curate a nourishing skincare routine, it’s equally (if not more) important to keep the body hydrated from within. Drinking water throughout the day helps the skin look fresh and free of toxins. Nutritionists recommend drinking 8 glasses of water a day, which roughly translates to 2-3 litres of water daily. Drinking enough water before bed helps the body recover and function properly throughout the night.

5. Create a bedtime routine
Creating a relaxing bedtime routine helps set the stage for a restful sleep. If you often find yourself struggling to fall asleep, these tips might help.

  • Say goodbye to all the screens an hour before going to bed. This means no Netflix, no work, no Instagram-scrolling while you’re in bed. Swap your gadgets with a book, or play some soothing music to help you fall asleep.
  • Try aromatherapy - set the ambience with essential oils and diffusers. Lavender and peppermint are most commonly used to help with sleep issues and improve the quality of rest.
  • Lastly, avoid cotton pillow covers as they tend to draw moisture from your skin, leaving it dry. Opt for silk bedding as it helps retain the skin’s hydration, and additionally prevents frizzy hair.

That’s all you need to know to sleep easy at night. These tips and tricks will allow you to wake up refreshed, keep your skin radiant and add a boost to your morning!
