Neem has been part of the Indian culture for such a long time that we believe that we know all its benefits. But do we really? Research has uncovered many additional properties that neem has and how much it can benefit your health and appearance. So, let’s take a look at how using neem can help you deal with various skin problems and have you look radiant.

Acne and Pimples

Neem has well-documented anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Therefore, it is great for those of you who have sensitive skin or oily skin that is prone to acne. All you need to do is boil 20 neem leaves in half a litre of water until the water is green and the leaves are discolored and soft. Strain the water and store it. You can use it every night with this concoction by dipping some cotton in it and wiping your face. Not only will it take care of your troublesome acne, but also pimples and pigmentation.

Blackheads

Those of you who have sensitive skin know that treating blackheads isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Even if you are able to get rid of them, they seem to come back with annoying regularity. However, if you dilute only two to three drops of neem oil in water and apply it to the affected area on a regular basis, you’ll find that the blackheads disappear. What’s more, you don’t have to worry about them coming back. Just make sure that you don’t take more than two or three drops of the neem oil.

Skin Discolouration

If your skin is discolored thanks to pimples and acne, neem makes for a very effective way of clearing your skin up and making it glow. A paste of turmeric and neem leaves applied twice a week will soon have your skin clearing up. Regular use of this paste will ensure that your skin doesn’t just look clean, but also glows.

Excessive Oiliness

If you have excessively oily skin, you can control the sebum using neem. Take neem powder and mix it with a small amount of curd and some lemon juice. Apply this mixture on your skin twice a week regularly. It helps to control the amount of oil your skin produces and, as a result also controls the problems such as acne and skin infections that excessive oiliness can cause.

Topical applications that contain neem are also another way to go if you don’t want to go through all the hassle of making these pastes yourself. Whatever method you choose, you’ll find that before long your skin looks clear and healthy.
